My current research activity involves variable temperature scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) of graphene nano-structures in ultra-high vacuum (UHV) and the development of Python packages for scientific data analysis.

Previously, I have been awarded a two-year postdoc grant at ICN2 (Barcelona), where I mastered the STM technique studying the growth of graphene nanoribbons (GNRs) and I developed software procedures for STM data processing.

I conduct my PhD research activity at the Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste performing STM and synchrotron radiation measurements (XPS, ARPES, NEXAFS, XMCD) of organic molecules self-assembled on metal surfaces. My research project has been awarded with a 3 years grant funded by the European Social Fund (within EU FP7 program).

The wide-range experience acquired in STM (continuous activity in 4 different labs) as well as in synchrotron-based techniques (with several beamtimes in different international facilities) allowed me to master these techniques as well as to acquire new knowledge in different fields.
