After obtaining a master degree in theoretical physics at the University of Milan, I moved to the United Kingdom to pursue a PhD in Materials Science at the University of Southampton. There I worked within the EU project Solution on design principle for solid lubricants, combining electronic-structure methods with coarse-grained models. I am currently working on understanding dissipative phenomena in nanoscale manipulation in the group of Vanossi and Tosatti at SISSA, collaborating with groups in Milan (IT), Konstanz (DE), Basel (CH), Tel Aviv (IL).
